Usher and his stable lawyers have apparently reached an agreement with herpes victim Laura Helm over their long-standing class action suit. Helm filed a motion to close the shop on the case, pending a final signature on a settlement package that they had reached outside the court, according to documents obtained by TMZ.
For the record, in 2017 Laura Helm filed her initial lawsuit against Usher, claiming that after having unprotected sex with the singer, she had contracted herpes. By the way, before doing the deed, the validity of her claims always depended on whether she was private to his condition. Helm proved herself after several years of protest, to be honest in her intentions.
Helm initially requested $10 million back in 2017, but that number ballooned to $20 million after being forced to endure a long, winding road of “emotional harm,” for which she also incidentally lobbied in the second amended phase of the lawsuit. For undisclosed technical reasons, Helm was forced to dismiss then re-open the case on several occasions before reaching a desirable conclusion this week. No word on how much she’s set to earn in the payout. All’s well that ends well, even herpes I gather.
