Actress Funke Akindele has thrown her support behind her colleague Wunmi Toriola by promoting the soon-to-be-released film Queen Lateefah.

Funke took to Instagram on Friday to share the film’s trailer, urging fans to watch it when it hits cinemas on September 27.

 

 

In her post, she expressed her excitement, writing, “Sho mo nkan??? You know something???? It’s Queen Lateefah Baby!!! I can’t wait to see this movie!! Congrats @wumitoriola.

 

“Let’s all meet at the cinemas from the 27th of Sept to see #queenlateefahthemovie it’s gonna be dope!!!”

Earlier on Tuesday, Wunmi Toriola officially unveiled the trailer for Queen Lateefah and announced the release date.

 

She captioned the post, “ARE YOU EVEN READY? Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you my dream, the Official Trailer for QUEEN LATEEFAH.

 

“Brace yourself for the ultimate showdown of secrets and lies in #QueenLateefah. Queen Lateefah is coming to cinemas nationwide on September 27. Mark your calendars and tell a friend to tell a friend—it’s about to get real.”

 

As part of the film’s promotional activities, Wunmi hosted a media parley for Queen Lateefah, which was attended by notable actors including Fathia Williams and Kunle Remi.

 

The film is directed by Adeoluwa Owu, popularly known as Captain Degzy.

 

Captain Degzy is also the director of 2023’s highest-grossing Nollywood movie, A Tribe Called Judah, Funke Akindele’s film, which earned an impressive N1.4 billion at the box office.

 

Queen Lateefah boasts a star-studded cast featuring Kunle Remi, Nancy Isime, Fathia Williams Balogun, Broda Shaggi, Adedimeji Lateef, Salami Rotimi, and others.
