Man City Faces £17m Ultimatum as Striker Deal Nears Conclusion!
Manchester City is under pressure as the transfer window edges closer to its end, with Barcelona pushing hard to re-sign João Cancelo. The 30-year-old fullback, who impressed during his loan spell at Camp Nou last season, has made his intentions crystal clear: it’s either a return to Barcelona or a stay at the Etihad, even if that means limited game time under Pep Guardiola.
Barcelona is desperate to bring Cancelo back and is proposing a loan deal with an option to buy at around £17 million (€20 million). However, City is holding out for a higher fee, seeking more than £21.3 million (€25 million).
To ensure they get the best possible deal, City has also been shopping Cancelo to clubs in Italy, though the player’s desire to return to Barcelona means he’s likely to push for the move to happen before the transfer window closes.
In other news, Manchester City is closing in on signing young striker Divin Mubamba following his exit from West Ham. The 19-year-old became a free agent after running down his contract with the Hammers, where he made 12 first-team appearances last season. Despite being a free agent, City will still have to pay a compensation fee, reportedly around £1.2 million, due to the player’s development at West Ham since the age of eight.
Mubamba is set to sign a long-term deal with City and will split his time between the club’s U21 squad and first-team training. A loan move for next season is also on the cards, allowing the promising young striker to gain valuable experience and continue his development.
With less than two weeks left in the transfer window, the pressure is on for City to finalize these deals and strengthen their squad for the upcoming season. Will Cancelo return to Barcelona, and can Mubamba make his mark at City?
