Carolina Herrera the creative director of Wes Gordan was inspired by the botanical phenomenon of the Californian super bloom, for the spring 2020 collection.
With silks meticulously draped to imitate a budding rose, silhouettes were sculpted and tailored to resemble forms in nature.
Dramatically brief or extravagantly long hemlines felt fresh and new. Exquisite chiffons, silks and cottons are awash with embroideries of lily of the valley and roses, as well as black and white polka dots – the signature pattern of the house of Herrera.
Sweeping gowns that we’re sure to see our favourite celebrities wearing on the red carpet, this season took a playful turn in oversized flocking polka dots and handmade flowers symphonies. It’s feel good fashion that puts a smile on your face.
