Julien Beaumer Ready for Mind Games with Haiden Deegan

On a recent episode of the PulpMX Show, rising motocross talent Julien Beaumer candidly shared his thoughts on Haiden Deegan’s antics during San Diego practice. Beaumer, who is no stranger to racing against Deegan, revealed he wasn’t surprised by the mind games Deegan employed during qualifying.

“I’ll be honest, I was ready for it last weekend,” Beaumer said. “I could already sense it was going to start happening, especially in qualifying. Me and him are the two guys that can just send it in qualifying and have the raw speed.”

Beaumer highlighted the competitive edge he and Deegan share, which naturally makes for intense showdowns during races and qualifying sessions. With both riders boasting impressive speed and aggression, it’s no surprise that tensions occasionally boil over.

“I knew in qualifying he was going to try and mess around and start doing stuff,” Beaumer continued. “I was on a fast lap and I saw him in front of me, and I watched him look back at me. I was like, ‘alright, here we go.’ I could see this one coming from a mile away.”

The incident Beaumer referred to involved Deegan seemingly trying to disrupt Beaumer’s rhythm during a hot lap. In the high-stakes world of motocross, such mental tactics are not uncommon, but Beaumer remains unfazed by the situation.

“I didn’t even know he pointed at me until I saw it five hours ago,” Beaumer admitted, referencing footage of the incident. “When he tried to mess with my lap, I just laughed about it. I’ve been dealing with his antics since I was six years old.”

Beaumer’s calm demeanor and ability to shrug off the distraction speak volumes about his mental toughness. Rather than letting the situation rattle him, Beaumer chose to embrace it as part of the sport’s competitive nature.

The rivalry between Beaumer and Deegan, two of the brightest young stars in motocross, is quickly becoming one of the sport’s most captivating storylines. Both riders have shown they are willing to push the limits, not only in terms of speed but also in their mental approach to racing.

As the season unfolds, fans can expect plenty more fireworks between these two. While Deegan’s mind games might rattle some riders, Beaumer’s experience and confidence suggest he’s more than ready to rise above the fray and let his performance do the talking.

In a sport where both mental and physical toughness are critical, Beaumer’s ability to keep his cool could prove to be a decisive factor in their growing rivalry.
